If you struggle with feeling anxious, a lack of confidence, and disconnection from your body, I want to work with you.
Join me for a hybrid program of art and fitness to build embodiment and expression!
I used to think of myself as robotic; I had running thoughts, some amount of disconnection, and a perceived lack of emotional depth. These impacted my confidence, consistency with healthy practices, and making progress on my goals in life.
I later discovered the practice that I want to share with you-- what I was missing was a practice to live my body and a way to express myself.
Even better, I found that these two practices did not live in isolation; they compounded when combined.
Many common approaches feel like temporary fixes, or they're hard to stick to long-term.
You might have tried meditation, or you think that fitness alone is enough for embodiment. Perhaps with an artistic practice you become more expressive, but it doesn't do much for running thoughts or confidence.
I propose an alternative that's inherently rewarding. It isn't an immediate fix (rewiring our patterns takes time), but the practice of getting in your body and making it enjoyable today is enough to put you on the path for sustainable change. And you'll see results in your body and your creativity.
Here's what I discovered: when you alternate between physical movement and creative expression, something unique happens: you enter a flow state where you're entirely present in your body and you're making positive influence on your environment. The momentum of one builds on the other.
💪 Fitness approached by counting reps and tracking metrics keeps you in your head.
🎨 People teach art in ways overly cerebral and technical.
My approach to both art and fitness has never been about objective measures or technique. I've been able to help myself and my clients make progress in both domains through the explicit emphasis on subjective experience-- how we feel while doing the act.
When combined, with a focus on feeling and subjective experience, they create a practice that pulls you completely into the present moment. This is what drives you to reach your vision of who you want to be without it feeling like work. 🏋️ 🧑🎨
This isn't meditation, nor is it therapy. It isn't quite personal training, either.
Flex & Paint is a coaching program centered around fitness for body awareness, painting for creative expression, and habit formation to replace rumination with presence.
If you want to reduce running thoughts and disconnection, I propose that we work together to build confidence, creativity, and a lasting fitness habit that you enjoy.
Over 8 weeks, you'll build a sustainable practice that compounds. Weekly group calls keep you accountable. A supportive community reminds you that you're not alone-- this struggle is more common (and more approachable) than you think. Personalized guidance ensures that you're making progress and that the program achieves YOUR goals.
You don't need to be fit or artistic to start. The lessons and exercises are designed for complete beginners who just want to feel connected to themselves again.
Spots are limited-- this is a small cohort of 8 max. I'm offering a unique rate for this founders cohort: $297 for 8 weeks. Contact below.
Let's work together:
Let's talk about where you are and where you want to be. I'll explain exactly how the program works and answer any questions.
Not ready for a group program? Start with my quickstart to Flex & Paint. You'll learn a practical exercises you can use today to manage running thoughts and connect with yourself and your emotions.
My aim is to help you build sustainable practices that support feeling more grounded, present, and emotionally connected.
If you participate in all exercises and group calls, and you don't feel you're gaining real value from the program, send me an email for a full refund-- even if it's at the very end of the program.
No. I'm not a licensed therapist or medical professional. Flex & Paint is a coaching program that combines fitness and creative practices. 👋 My name is Kevin Koza and I'm an artist and a personal trainer (certified NASM). I was a software engineer for nearly 7 years. I've been lifting for over a decade and painting since graduating college after studying computer science.
Since then, I've realized the impact of expression and embodiment on my life. These are core tenets of my painting courses and personal training programs which fuel artistic and fitness gains for my clients. I know they're better combined, so I made this program.
I think there's a lack of proper support for people who struggle with feeling anxious, disconnected, and lacking confidence-- and I want to provide that support. I know that my initial struggles weren't met with any level of seriousness-- I think that people feel cast away to the fringes because they're disconnected from themselves and thus from others.
😡 I want to provide an alternative to the mainstream approaches: medications with side effects, meditation practices that are hard to maintain, or finding community in circles that amplify anger rather than address underlying feelings and actionable strategies for growth.
Beginner fitness programs are cookie-cutter and don't teach you the skills to build sustainable practices that will actually drive gains. Art courses can build techniques, but they don't articulate how to even enjoy the act of creation without judgment. Neither are viewed from the lens of why even lift/create in the first place-- you're directing yourself towards the healthiest, most confident, and embodied version of yourself possible.
This isn't about painting techniques-- you won't learn how to paint anything in particular. At the end of the program, if you want to extend your practice, I'd be happy to help. My approach to art is 80% subjective and 20% objective-- start with how to enjoy the process, reducing friction and building consistency, and building sensations around the medium itself. Only after these foundations have been established should you approach learning "how."
The reason that we're starting with painting is because it offers a physical medium with ample tactile and visual stimulus-- essential elements of getting out of your head.
When you mix paint and place it on canvas, you have the opportunity for both embodiment and expression-- you can focus on the feelings of the brush or knife, how paint moves around canvas, and other sensations. You also make choices which have an impact-- the crux of expression.
I want to put you on the path to achieve the body you desire, sustainably.
Fitness is what you make of it. My approach, again, is to not initially chase objective measures; the physical outcome takes time to develop (definitely more than 8 weeks).
However, you will notice changes begin to appear if you don't already have a weightlifting habit. The primary focus is on the experience-- using movement to get into your body and quiet running thoughts.
I'm happy to tailor the program to your current fitness level, and I'm available for individual coaching after the program concludes. I want to set you up on your journey to get fit, embodied, expressive, and confident.
